Engaging with the world
SWITZERLAND | 96 minutes | 2016
Swiss filmmaker Felix Tissi is back with a work that alternates irony with existentialism and black humour. Nine years after his last film, director Felix Tissi throws together a suicidal man in a suit, a headbanger couple and a seemingly perfect family in an Icelandic wasteland. What would appear to be a spiritual quest quickly morphs into preposterous tragi-comedy. Through a series of bizarre situations set against breathtaking Nordic backdrops, Tissi succeeds in portraying a curiously absurd communal journey as ultimately liberating.
