A young Mexican is ready to do anything to obtain U.S. citizenship, including enlisting to fight in a war he cares nothing about. Anything goes if it helps snag the precious green card that paves the way to U.S. citizenship. Or so thinks Nero, an undocumented Mexican who enlists in Uncle Sam’s Army: two years of loyal service and the card is yours. Or so they say… For his fifth feature, the Iranian-born Pitts stages decidedly absurd situations tinged with black humour to expose the incongruity of permanent exile.
