Experimentation. Transcendence. Rapture.
MEXICO | 71 minutes | 2016
Pacifico deconstructs fiction to reinvent reality through the eyes of an eight-year-old girl. This first feature from Mexican filmmaker Fernanda Romandia zooms in on the dreams and fears of little Cora, who each day after school wanders happily around a building site. Using the magnificent beach of Puerto Escondido as her backdrop and a cast of non-professional actors who play themselves, Romandia mixes documentary and drama to imbue her film with gentle, haunting poetry.
