Gutsy cinema that breaks new ground
FRANCE | 71 minutes | 2016
A park in summer. A first date between two teens. A blossoming love... until night falls. Summertime. Two teens are on their first date. The day is bright and full of promise. Nervous at first, the two gradually lose their shyness and a relationship blossoms. Then comes the first kiss and with it, extravagant promises. But when evening sets in, it’s time to part. At that point the film, whose first part is decidedly Rohmerian, becomes a type of negative mirror image as normalcy morphs into strangeness. It’s the start of a dark, nerve-wracking night that, for the young girl, is marked by betrayal and disappointment in love.
