Gutsy cinema that breaks new ground
BELGIUM | 103 minutes | 2016
Home explores the complex, sometimes ambiguous, and always powerful relationships between teenagers and the adult world. After getting out of juvie, 17-year-old Kevin goes to work in his aunt’s store and moves in with her and her family. That’s where he meets John, a friend of his cousin Sammy, who has a complicated home life with his mother. Kevin decides to help him. The fourth feature by Belgian director Fien Troch, Home hinges on generation gaps: between adults and their nostalgia for youth, and teens in self-discovery mode.
