THE SUN, THE SUN BLINDED ME

Between reality and illusion, a powerful meditation on the current migrant crisis. This loose adaptation of Albert Camus’ The Stranger by artist/writer duo Wilhelm and Anka Sasnal moves away from the original text to swim in poetic but oppressive waters. Rafa? Mularz, an immigrant living in Poland, is subject to casual, everyday racism, which causes him to suffer terribly. In response, he creates a clean-freak lifestyle that he thinks will protect him. However, his carefully constructed world falls to pieces when he meets another stranger: a refugee. A formally radical work that blends social criticism with innovative camera work that underscores the point of view of the elusive main character.
