FRANCE | 90 minutes | 2015

A couple of laid-off workers team up with a filmmaker to take on France’s richest man, resulting in a battle of tragic-comic proportions. For 16 years, journalist François Ruffin has chronicled factory closures throughout France, together with their anonymous dramas and failed resistance attempts. In Poix-du- Nord, a small commune in the country’s north, he meets Jocelyne and Serge Klur, catapulted into destitution when the factory that employed them relocates to Poland. Deciding to help them, Ruffin sets out with his trademark irreverence to have their cause heard by Bernard Arnault, CEO of LVMH and owner of the factory in question, at the company’s annual general meeting.
