QUEBEC, Canada | 79 minutes | 2016

The nostalgia of autumn permeates this tale where past choices pave the way for harrowing new decisions. Arsinée Khanjian, muse and wife to Atom Egoyan (Felicia’s Journey, Exotica), plays the double role of a Montreal neurosurgeon and a Lebanese border town seamstress in this third feature from the Beirut-born Zéhil, who moved to Quebec in 1996. A sensitive, intimate meditation on cultural duality, The Other Side of November builds on the consequences of past choices to weave a plot that entwines the personal with the universal.
