AMERICAN HONEY

In her first U.S.-made film, Andrea Arnold follows a magazine-subscription sales team led by Sasha Lane and Shia LaBeouf. After leaving her dysfunctional family, 18-year-old Star (Sasha Lane) joins a magazine subscription sales team. With her co-workers, among them Jake (Shia LaBeouf), the crew crisscrosses the Midwest, going door-to-door, drinking, hooking up, breaking up, just living. Filming in the United States for the first time, British director Andrea Arnold has made a fascinating, picaresque, musical portrait of today’s youth. Jury Prize, Cannes 2016.
