PHILIPPINES, Germany | 89 minutes | 2016

The Filipino enfant terrible, director of Mondomanila, employs neo-punk poetry in this provocative tale of a gang of kids who hold up the Central Bank.

NORTH AMERICAN PREMIERE

A gang of very young kids (all under 10) live in a shanty town. These fascinating and disturbing freaks call the shots and live beyond the law. After Ruined Heart, Khavn de la Cruz is back (so soon!) with a new film that’s sensual, funny and political, a heartfelt tribute to his country’s underbelly. Alipato in many ways recalls the cinema of Alessandro Jodorowsky. A meta treatment of a gang of wild boys by a brilliant filmmaker definitely like no other.  (Julien Fonfrède)

« Khavn De La Cruz est un auteur majeur.  Ce que confirme ce diamant brut.  » Kinoscript
