Since 2004, the Wapikoni methodology, “Learning by Creating”, has been nurtured by a solid reflection that keeps proving itself thanks to constant evolution. Mobile studios, fully equipped with cutting-edge filmmaking technology travel to First Nations communities: to date, 30 communities from 9 different nations have been visited and more than 3,500 youths have been trained or initiated to documentary filmmaking or musical recording. Cinema Politica is committed to supporting alternative, independent and radical political film and video, and the artists who dare to devote time, passion and resources to telling stories from the margins.
